Terms of use
Last updated: 24 October 2026
These terms apply to everyone who visits or uses fertradar.com ("FertRadar", "we"), published by Maxime Rinjard, entrepreneur individuel (EI) (see the legal notice). By using the site or creating an account you accept them. Purchases of data packs and of FertRadar Pro are also governed by the terms of sale.
1. What FertRadar is
FertRadar publishes fertilizer market data compiled from public sources (international organisations, national statistics offices, geological surveys, customs data and company reports) and indicators calculated from these data with published methods. The method, sources and licences of every data set are described on the site.
2. No advice, no forecasts
FertRadar provides industry data and analytics only. Nothing on the site or in its files is investment, financial, trading, commercial, agronomic or legal advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any product or financial instrument, a price assessment or a forecast. You alone are responsible for the decisions you take with the data; check any figure that matters to a decision against the original source.
3. Data provided as is
We take care to reproduce and process the data correctly and we document our methods, but the data come from third parties and may contain errors, gaps, revisions or delays, and our adjustments and estimates are labelled as such. Data are provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by law. We may change, correct, update or withdraw any data or page at any time; each data release is numbered and dated.
4. Sources and their licences come first
Each data set names its source and licence (see Sources and licences). The data of the original providers remain subject to their own licences and terms (for example Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, the Etalab Open Licence 2.0, the UK Open Government Licence, the Statistics Canada Open Licence, or US public domain). Where these say something different from our terms about a provider's data, the provider's licence prevails for those data, and you remain free to obtain them from the provider. No data provider endorses, sponsors or is affiliated with FertRadar, and you must not suggest that one does. Data from FAO must not be used for, or in conjunction with, the promotion of a commercial enterprise or its products or services.
5. Your account
- An account is for one person. Give a valid e-mail address, keep your password to yourself and tell us at once if you think your account is used by someone else.
- A free account opens the full history on screen, the compare and follow tools, the e-mails you choose and a free sample of the data packs (at most 3 rows of data per sheet and three samples a month, after you confirm your e-mail address).
- You can close your account at any time by writing to contact@fertradar.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by sharing access or extracting data automatically, after telling you when we can.
6. Quoting and reusing FertRadar figures
You may quote and reuse reasonable extracts of the figures and charts of FertRadar, including in professional reports and presentations for your clients, provided that you credit FertRadar and the original source (for example: "Source: FertRadar (fertradar.com), based on [the source shown on the page], Release [number]"), keep the attribution the source's licence asks for, say if you modified the figures, and do not suggest that FertRadar or a data provider endorses your use.
Without our written agreement you may not: extract or reuse all or a substantial part of the FertRadar database, including by repeated and systematic extraction of small parts (scraping, automated downloading or querying); pass on the files, or share an account, outside the terms that cover them; republish FertRadar's compilations or indicators as a data set, a feed or a service; or use the FertRadar name or logo.
7. Corrections and contact
If you find an error, write to contact@fertradar.com with the page, the series and the figure concerned. We review every report and correct the data in the next release, or sooner when the error matters. Data providers can also contact us about the use of their data.
8. Availability
The site is provided on a best-effort basis. We may interrupt it for maintenance, for security or for reasons beyond our control, and we may change or close a free feature.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by French law, FertRadar is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site or the free data, including losses of profit, business, contracts or opportunity, or decisions taken on the basis of the data. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, in particular for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury. If you use the site as a consumer, you keep the rights that mandatory consumer law gives you.
10. Links
Links to other websites are given for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
11. Intellectual property
The FertRadar texts, layouts, charts, name and logo, and FertRadar's own compilations and indicators, are protected by intellectual property law, including copyright and the sui generis database right of the French Intellectual Property Code (articles L. 341-1 and following). This does not limit the rights you hold under the original providers' open licences for their own data.
12. Personal data
See the privacy policy.
13. Changes
We may update these terms; the date of the last update is shown at the top, and account holders are told by e-mail of a material change. The version in force is the one published when you use the site.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. Before any legal action, please write to contact@fertradar.com so that we can look for an amicable solution. If you act as a professional, any dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the courts of Melun, subject to mandatory rules of jurisdiction. If you act as a consumer, you may bring proceedings before the courts the law designates, including those of your place of residence.
